How to remove a fruit or vegetable stain

On natural fibre fabrics, remove fruit or vegetables stains by dabbing them with a cloth dampened with a mixture of equal parts water and surgical spirit, then with white vinegar.

On white or colourfast fabrics, slightly bleached water is very effective: pour bleach on a cloth, dab the stain, then rinse quickly.

On wool, remove these stains by dabbing them with a damp cloth and a little white vinegar. Rinse once the stain is removed.

On man-made fibres, it is better to use soapy water or surgical spirit strongly diluted with water.

– If the stain persists, you can try to bleach the stained area with hydrogen peroxide diluted with 10 volumes of water. Remember to rinse immediately.
